The factory will be located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and according to Benjamin Ting, senior vice president of Foxconn, the plant will be the largest GB200 production facility on the planet. The new facility in Mexico will include advanced liquid cooling and heat dissipation technologies, essential for the GB200 server infrastructure.
The Foxconn-Nvidia partnership represents a milestone in the technology industry. GB200 chips, essential components for Nvidia’s next-generation Blackwell computing platforms, are critical to the development of increasingly sophisticated artificial intelligence applications. These superchips are up to 30 times faster than Nvidia’s H100 chips in artificial intelligence (AI) processing tasks and will be used in science and simulation applications.
Foxconn's presence in Mexico
Foxconn , known for being the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer and the main assembler of Apple’s iPhone, has invested more than $500 million in Mexico to date. Last August, it announced a $241.2 million investment, aimed at strengthening the production of artificial intelligence servers in Mexico.
With this investment, Foxconn and Nvidia are not only looking to meet the growing demand for AI components, but also to foster technological development in Mexico. This project shows the country's potential to become a leader in high-tech manufacturing worldwide.
